Election Fever

Been wonderin lately.....
Election is around the corner and the campaign is gearing
towards its peak.


I have been to Inang Bayan and saw the boob tube.
It is littered with ads that carry the "good works" and "good intentions"
not to mention those "pangarap" of candidates vying for the Senate.
Someone became an instant "'tol" to all!
How farcical and plastic can one be?


Come to think of it, ....can't help but wonder:
This people must be spending oodles of moolah for those ads alone.
How about the flyers and posters and all those sorties?
Geez!

WHERE in the world did they get those?
Granting that they have been sooo blessed with a silver spoon
by birth, sayang pa rin!

What if they use those moolah to buy medicines for the poor?
Or build some decent housing for the urban poor,
instead of living along the riles?

Ahhh!
But that would be wistful thinking, eh?

Familiar tunes have erupted and made into jingles.
One that caught my attention was the song:

Boom Korap, Korap!

Boom Korap, Korap!

Tararat! Tararat!

Kurakot!

I remember singing that during Boy Scouts Training in Makiling.
Now some group have claimed it is theirs!


Corruption may be the issue
but corruption of the highest level is being committed unabated
by the alipores of the power-grabber who continue to sit by the Pasig.


I just hope and pray that the Filipino VOTER
learn from past experience. I hope they give the forces of evil
a piece of their own medicine!
